 Casa 5 convida-o para a abertura da exposição, Casa 5 invite you for the opening of the exhibition "George Tabliashvili Pinturas" Sabado 23 Outubro 19.00 h George Tabliashvili, artista da Géorgia em residência na Casa 5, nasceu a 23 de Outubro de 1978, em Tbilisi, Géorgia Graduou-se em 2002, na “Tbilisi State Academy of Arts”, na faculdade de Artes decorativas Aplicadas, com a especialidade de Cerâmica Designer. Coopera desde 2002, como designer, em várias editoras da Georgia e da Turquia e ainda para o National Centre of Manuscripts, o British Council e para várias agências de publicidade. Foi o vencedor do primeiro concurso internacinal de Pintura em Computador, organizado pelo Seattle Institute of Digital Arts. Participou em diversas exposições individuais e colectivas na Georgia e no estrageiro, entre as quais: George Tabliashvili, artist in residence from Georgia in Casa 5, was born in Tbilisi, Georgia in 1978. In 2002 graduated from Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, the faculty of Decorative-Applied Arts, with the specialty in ceramics design. Since 2002 has been cooperating as an artist-designer for several Georgian and Turkish publishing houses, also for the National Centre of Manuscripts, the British Council, and with various advertisement agencies. Winner of the first international competition in Computer Paintings held by the Seattle Institute of Digital Arts. Took part in several personal and group exhibitions in Georgia and abroad. From which most important are: 2010 – Artista residente na Casa 5 / Artist in residence in Casa 5 2010 - International Award for Digital and Photographic Art, Art Museum of Chianciano Terme, Italy. Beautiful Tale – Staying as a resident in Casa 5, Tavira, Portugal
Several days are gone from my arriving back to Georgia. And now, with “cold mind”, I can share with you several opinions and impressions I got in Tavira, Portugal, where I was a resident artist for a month in Casa 5 art gallery.
First I want to start my article about the place, I was. It will not be news for them who already have had a happiness of being there, but for them who have not, I will be one more person to give them an advice – visit this wonderful, beautiful town, in the southern part of Algarve, Portugal. Town is really full with historic places, beautiful buildings, has wonderful beach, great warm weathers during the most part of the year…. And what is also very important, the people around are very warm, nice and hospitable.
What about my staying as a resident: It was a very big happiness for me to be a resident in Casa 5, this gave me a chance to work hard on my artistic project, and to have an exhibition in the gallery. Also for sure, it was a great place to have a rest, and being in this town, with all it’s plural sights really helps for it.
You never now in advance exactly, what kind of place is it, you are going to visit, and what kind of people you will meet there…. I was really lucky, Matthijs and Bli appeared the people, I could only dream about. I am happy that now I have such a good, warm and nice friends, and they are also very big professionals in the field we work - Art. They promised that my staying there would be great moment for me, and they did it! By the way, they did it with their hearts, and every time tried to do something good, interesting and new for me – Huge thanks for it my nice hosts!

It was very interesting moment for me – visiting people of different culture, having with them speech, is every time very interesting, and even amazing, when those people appear great – as it was in my case. Great memories from them!
In the studio I worked hard. I wish I could work so hard in my native, because in Tavira I had a huge time for painting…. I did about 80 paintings and I am happy about it…. It was really great experience for me. All around, landscapes, people, beautiful town, gives you many many great impressions, that if you are an artist, and if you have a time, just put your feelings on the paper: what else can any artist in the world dream about? So, it was exactly this rare moment for me… concentrating and working …. And finally, the exhibition appeared interesting… And, successful… Many paintings were sold. And it happened that my exhibition opening was exactly on my birthday! So, it was unforgettable! And all those guests, joy and situation, was wonderful. Hosts and everyone tried to do everything in a very nice way, and they did it! It was beautiful day really! Thanks so much!
Working hard, those wonderful impressions, also nice speeches with artists and hosts about art gave me a lot, to grow as an artist and as a person.
At last, I want to write about all those wonderful people I met in Tavira: friends of my hosts, and people I met occasionally and was in a good friendship. Lots of nice memories from all of them. And Philip, son of Bli was also very friendly! Greetings to him.
And Matthijs and Bli, kindest wishes from me. I wish once we really meet, may be even in Tbilisi, where I will have a chance to be as good host for you as you were for me. And help you to get as many positives as you gave me. I am full with love, with happiness and joy _ because of many reasons, during my nice journey I got there! Thank you! And Cheers!
